Gawk for a good cause
If you want to see how the other half lives -- or, if you're part of that other half, to get ideas for your next home -- get to Wakefield Estates today, Sunday or next weekend.
Rufty Homes is showing a custom-designed, 13,000-square-foot, $2 million-plus home. The house is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and April 28; 1-5 p.m. Sunday and April 29; and 1-6 p.m. Friday.
The $5 admission benefits the Duke Children's Hospital.
The 24-foot RE/MAX hot-air balloon will be flying Sunday and Saturday, April 28. Rides, weather permitting, will be $5. To learn more, call Wendy Shannon at 933-8026. No cameras, backpacks, strollers, food, drinks or smoking in the home.
Directions: North on Falls of the Neuse Road to Wakefield Plantation. Take a left at Wakefalls Drive, and take the fifth left; the house is at 1801 Oatlands Court.
